School Day Program

SCHOOL DAY PROGRAM

The Living Traditions School Day Program takes place on Friday morning before the festival opens to the public, and provides the opportunity for local elementary students from several school districts to engage in authentic cultural traditions. Over 2,000 students attend and learn about the diversity, history, and heritage of Salt Lake’s ethnic communities through activities at the festival. Students have the opportunity to speak with artists, learn about their art form, and gain a greater understanding and respect for the cultures in our community. The program is coordinated by the Educational Equity Unit of the Utah State Office of Education.
