RED BRANCH / Irish Music

East Stage – Friday, 9:15 – 10:00 pm

Utah’s Irish heritage dates back to the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869, and from the mining boom in the late 19th Century. The founders of the Red Branch Band grew up steeped in their Irish ancestry at home, and the band regularly participates in Utah Hibernian Society events, playing traditional tunes that are hundreds of years old, as well as more contemporary selections from the living heritage of Irish culture.
