HAWAIIAN LEIS & CRAFTS
The Ohumukini Family & Halau Hula ‘O Keola
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – Canopy G
Master artist Maurice “Keola” Ohumukini has taught the ancient arts of Hawaii in Utah for many years sharing them through dance performances and craft demonstrations. Using fresh flowers, vines and the kukui nut, members of Keola’s family and hula school braid, twine and string these materials together to create leis that symbolize Hawaiian beauty and hospitality. Proficient in many Hawaiian cultural forms, Keola also crafts traditional games that can be enjoyed here in Utah.
