GHANAIAN / African Spice
Chef Miatta Stevens-Nahas is from Sierra Leone but fled to Ghana when war came to her home country. While staying in refugee camps in Ghana, she had the opportunity to help in the kitchen preparing different Ghanaian dishes for other refugees. After immigrating to Utah, she started a business with the help from the Spice Kitchen Incubator Program by the International Rescue Committee. She plans on using the proceeds from the Living Traditions Festival to support his growing business as well as teaching cooking classes to the community and providing support to other refugee programs.
