Ingrid Hersman and Eric Reidel
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Canopy H
Since her childhood in Germany, Ingrid Hersman has carried on her family’s tradition of decorating eggs. She has studied and acquired skills in a variety of the techniques and styles found throughout the European continent including the batik-dye method, commonly recognized as Ukrainian eggs. Her son, Eric, scratches designs on dyed eggs with a pocket knife, a form of folk art practiced in the Slavic regions of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic where his parents and grandparents are from.
