Jignesh Sheth

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – Canopy B

Jigs, as his friends call him, straddles the world of software engineering and the ancient art of rangoli. For centuries, during celebratory events, Hindus have created temporary designs using colorful chalk, sand, and rice on their patios, thresholds or floors to welcome deities, ward off evil spirits and bring good luck to the household. Jigs carries on this tradition here in the local Hindu community creating both temporary and permanent pieces for celebrations. He also paints landscapes, portraits and narrative paintings featuring Indian culture and religion.
