As a teenager Lonnie Jensen worked at a farm shop where he learned to make ornamental hand rails from wrought iron. He studied welding, and then forging, and today he is a full-time smith specializing in custom, hot-forged metalwork such as handmade gates, fences, handrails and items for home d├ęcor. Lonnie is currently president of the Bonneville Forge Council, a local chapter of the Artist Blacksmiths Association of North America, that promotes education for blacksmiths, designers, architects and the public about blacksmithing.
