AMERICAN INDIAN / Jawyhawks Club

The Jayhawks Club advocates for low-income youth on the Westside of Salt Lake City by providing services like college readiness courses, supporting families, and facilitating a healthy outlet for youth of diverse backgrounds through sports. Proceeds from the Living Traditions Festival will help fund these activities.

American Indian foods are generally simply prepared and based on what’s available from the land. The iconic fry bread is a food prepared by many tribes and presented in varying combinations with beans, cheese and tomatoes and other ingredients, often called an “Indian” or “Navajo” taco.
